Imitating The Onion for Fun and for the F--- of It
Whenever I read about the looming climate crisis, I respond with a deep sense of demoralization and powerlessness. So today I imitated The Onion to meet the constant horror with humor A bit of parody feels better, even as our planet is on course to bake our species into oblivion.

MAJOR NEWS ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO USE INCONTROVERTIBLE DATA TO THROW PUBLIC OFF THE SCENT OF A GREAT CHINESE HOAX
Los Angeles, California—In yet another attempt to muddy the waters of social stability, CNN has released incontrovertible observational data to undermine the presidency of Donald J. Trump, his administration, and the legislative efforts of Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell. By printing news that includes hard, indisputable but ultimately neutral data, CNN reporters are exposing an apparent agenda to attack the President’s position that “Climate Change” is a hoax initiated by the Chinese government.
As one unnamed source from deep within the Trump administration commented: "If CNN is so fair and balanced, they would also be writing stories equally as often about the GOP position that these unambiguously recorded high temperatures are indeed being created by the Chinese as part of a hoax.”
When asked, Editor-in-Chief of CNN News, Mr. Mark Sundberg, referred to the news agency's policy to avoid a specious philosophical and unproved concept referred to as “False Equivalency”. CNN releasing these data, which do not disprove President Trump’s opinion that so-called “Climate Change” is a Chinese hoax, is a clear example of an increasingly common lack of adherence to the tenets of neutrality in journalism trending in our nation’s news outlets.
President Trump himself, while having his nightly cheeseburgers carried up to the White House residence by his personal valet and stretching his fingers to ready himself for Twitter communications, commented on the article as well by stating: “these fake news liberal failing organizations can pump out all the numbers and facts that they want and it all just shows that they want to hurt me and my presidency. If they’re so sure these hot July months aren't caused by a Chinese hoax, wouldn’t they have interviewed a Chinaman to verify that? It’s unfair and, if the law allowed it, I’d shut that trashy and failing news agency down immediately.”
In an effort to be fair and balanced, the Trump Gazette reached out to several Chinamen near our headquarters on the streets of downtown Los Angeles and three of the four of them refused to comment. Curiously, only one of those unnamed Chinamen responded to our journalist’s questions stating: “Dude, I was born in Long Island and my grandparents are from Japan.” The fact that CNN is not reporting on this Chinese stonewalling of investigations into the possibility of a hoax lends credence to Trump’s position that the media is biased and unreliable.
A review performed by our research department has detected a consistent pattern of CNN not reaching out to Chinamen to investigate a possible hoax as the cause of rising global temperatures. This fact raises questions about the fragile integrity of contemporary American journalism and biases in reporting on this and other national and international issues.
