One of the most gritty, poetic, powerful, and contemplative contemporary writers grants an interview to that boring dude from KRCW’s Bookworm This is long but, for anyone who has read The Rings of Saturn or Austerlitz, it’s about as deep a look into the man himself that I can find. Parts of his interview also support my intuition that Sebald not only wrote obsessively about suicide but that his death, attributed to a car “accident”, was very likely a suicide. Caution: only of interest to those readers blessed enough to have read the Rings of Saturn.
